Postcard from Italy – a clutch of Pagani Zondas on the loose!

Adam Kaplan, Managing Director of Supercar Investments – official importer of Pagani Zonda in Australia (if you’ve been to a car show in Australia you would have seen the bright yellow Roadster) – sent us this report on the annual Pagani gathering in Italy. Adam still has the yellow Roadster for sale, and there’s still an opportunity to put your order in for one of the last three Zonda F’s scheduled to build. Adam is contactable via www.supercarinvestments.com.au

After attending the second annual Pagani Gathering with 3 other Aussies I thought I'd just give you a quick wrap up of the event as well as some pictures.

In short, we had an absolute ball. Starting near Bologna at the Pagani factory with a gala dinner to meet the other owners from all around the world; America, Germany,United Kingdom,Romania, Spain, Austria, UAE, Switzerland, France and of course Italy. With only 65 cars produced over 7 years and the cars spread all around the world it was exciting to be able to get 15 Zonda's in the same place at the same time.

We were joined by a few other exotic cars like Carrera GT's, a Bugatti EB110, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Maybach 62.

Silver & ‘raw carbon’ were the most popular colour choices which to my mind simply made the yellow cars stand out even more (mine's yellow for those of you who don't know). For interiors red and blue got the nod from me, you can make your own decision from some of the pictures attached.

The 75 year old owner of the car with the blue interior had his car painted Pearlescent White to exactly match the colour of his hair… which prompted me to ask if the blue interior was chosen to match his blood!! Fortunately he was a New York "Construction Company Owner" WITH a sense of humour.

Driving in Italy, particularly in a Super Car, is an absolute joy. Quite apart from the attention that the cars generate wherever they go, the respect afforded by other road users is really something that Aussies could learn from. Other drivers couldn't do enough to get out of your way or move aside to let you pass. Even passing Police cars on the freeway at well above the posted limit raised no more than a friendly wave and a smile.
